When you think of your own antibride wedding, what comes to mind? Hopefully, it’s something that doesn’t look like anything you’ve ever seen before. Because that’s what the antibride movement is all about – it’s your interpretation and your inspiration for doing a wedding exactly your way. Because a wedding is a celebration of your love, not a checklist of things you think you should be doing. Sometimes that looks like a big traditional wedding with all the moments you’d expect (which is totally great) but it doesn’t have to.
That’s why I’ve been so drawn to the antibride aesthetic – it’s not about explicitly doing or not doing anything, but about not feeling constrained by what TikTok, or Pinterest, or your aunt Kathy tells you a wedding should be.
This styled shoot, designed by Seattle Wedding Planner Mimi Nguyen of Gather with Mimi, has such a fun eclectic vibe while still looking very chic – a combo that’s not always easy to pull off. Mimi’s nontraditional tablescape with little animal figures, bits of moss, and green glass candle holders were the perfect touches.
Florist, Rachel Gifford, of Sans Grande created the perfect antibride ceremony backdrop, leveraging nontraditional wedding flowers like garlic scapes. Her structural and playful floral ceremony nest was bright and unique while still looking timeless and editorial. Not to mention the table nontraditional floral centerpieces that were truly modern and interesting.
And if you’ve never seen an antibride cake before – Cake and Crumble’s masterpiece is truly something to behold. Coordinating with Rachel, they added pops of flowers and fruits to a dome shape which created a lot of visual interest and looked delicious.
I hope this gallery gives you inspiration for your own antibride wedding and the confidence that doing something YOUR way is always the right way.
