For their Seattle engagement session, Morgan and Alex wanted to showcase three things: Cherry blossoms, romance, and fun. Morgan initially connected with my editorial wedding photography style, and she also wanted to incorporate some candid feeling moments – music to my ears. I love when clients aren’t afraid to ask for what they want. And if they need help figuring out what that is, that’s why I’m here for.
Even though I’m a WSU Coug at heart, the University of Washington campus is the perfect spot for a romantic Seattle engagement session because the landscape and buildings are stunning. I love the moody romance of the library, the exceptional beauty of the cherry blossoms, and the endless supply of thoughtfully designed buildings. And even though it was drizzling a little when we were outside, the cherry blossoms were such a beautiful backdrop that set the stage for a little Spring shower, and we were able to capture the joy and romance that’s core to their relationship.
Like many grooms-to-be, Alex was hesitant to take photos, but he came in with a really good attitude (which is seriously 99% of getting great photos), and I promised I’d continuously pose and direct them so he never felt awkward. Watching him loosen up and ease into taking photos was so sweet. It’s clear he felt the most comfortable when he was touching Morgan, and they had such loving, palpable chemistry.
I always make sure to ask my couples their comfort level in front of the camera, so no is too far outside of their comfort zone. I’m a bit of a sponge and like to work off my couples’ vibes.
Building connections with my clients is a high priority, so I include a complimentary portrait or engagement photos with every booked wedding. Let’s chat today to start planning your perfect engagement photos. Reach out here.
