The first day of summer set the stage for this Fox Hollow Farm Wedding in Issaquah, just outside of Seattle, WA — and while the forecast brought light rain for most of the day, it only added to the magic. The clouds softened the light, the rain paused just long enough for an outdoor ceremony, and the colorful florals truly brightened an otherwise gray day. Fox Hollow Farm is one of those rare venues that works beautifully in any weather, thanks to its flexible layout, gorgeous indoor spaces, and tent options that allow the day to unfold seamlessly. What made this wedding especially meaningful was how focused it was on what mattered most — spending time with family, being together throughout the day, and creating portraits that felt elevated, emotional, and real.
Cat and Joey planned their Fox Hollow Farm Wedding with intention, flexibility, and a strong focus on being present with one another and their loved ones. Taking place on the first day of summer just outside Seattle, Washington, the timeline they chose allowed space for meaningful moments, beautiful wedding portraits, and a relaxed flow — even with light rain throughout the day.

The bride and groom chose to get ready separately so they could experience a true first look as the start of their wedding day together. Both Cat and Joey got ready off-site at a hotel, then arrived at Fox Hollow Farm to step into their wedding attire. One of the biggest advantages of this Issaquah wedding venue is the availability of large, separate getting-ready suites, which gave each of them plenty of space to be with their wedding party and transition into the day without feeling rushed.

The couple decided to do a first look so they could complete the majority of their wedding portraits before the ceremony. This is an especially great option for couples who want to enjoy cocktail hour and spend more time with their guests after the ceremony. Planning a first look simply requires having immediate family members and the wedding party arrive earlier in the day for portraits — something your photographer and day-of coordinator can help plan so the experience still feels private and intentional.
Because of the rain, the bride and groom’s first look took place on the front porch of the Manor House at Fox Hollow Farm. The space provided beautiful natural light, architectural interest, and shelter from the weather, making it ideal for intimate wedding portraits. Immediately following the first look, Cat and Joey exchanged private vows, creating a meaningful pause before the rest of the wedding day unfolded.

Following the first look, we moved into couples portraits and wedding party portraits. When the rain lightened, we stepped outside briefly, then brought the larger group portraits indoors near one of the venue’s large windows. The light was soft and flattering, and the indoor setting gave the photos a cozy, celebratory feel while still feeling elevated and editorial.

The wedding ceremony took place on the backyard grounds at Fox Hollow Farm, a spacious green area with just enough trees to frame the ceremony without blocking light. The ceremony space backs up to a large creek, creating a peaceful and romantic setting for the couple and their guests. A colorful floral nest anchored the ceremony design, adding bold color and texture that stood out beautifully against the overcast Washington sky.
In case of heavier rain, the ceremony was planned to move under one of the venue’s white tents — a key reason Fox Hollow Farm is such a popular Seattle-area wedding venue. As luck would have it, the rain paused just in time for the couple to exchange vows outdoors.
Guests were welcomed with a champagne table as they made their way to the ceremony space, setting a joyful tone from the start. The venue also offers ample on-site parking, which is a major benefit for weddings in the Seattle, Washington area and made guest arrival smooth and stress-free.

One of the reasons this Fox Hollow Farm Wedding flowed so smoothly — even with weather shifts and a dynamic timeline — was the incredible vendor team behind it. Choosing experienced, collaborative wedding vendors makes a huge difference, especially at a venue like Fox Hollow Farm, where the layout offers flexibility but also requires thoughtful coordination.

Hiring an experienced wedding planner or day-of coordinator is always a good idea, but it’s especially important at Fox Hollow Farm. With multiple buildings, outdoor spaces, and tented areas, no one person can be everywhere at once. Emerald Engagements kept the day running seamlessly, making sure the couple, wedding party, and vendors were always where they needed to be. Their calm, organized presence allowed Cat and Joey to stay present and enjoy their wedding day without worrying about logistics.

Chloe of Florist.Cha created a stunning rainbow floral nest for the ceremony that instantly brought warmth and energy to a cloudy first day of summer. The bright, playful florals paired beautifully with the pink table linens, transforming the space into a joyful summer garden party. Her designs added so much personality and color, proving just how impactful thoughtful floral design can be — especially on an overcast Washington day.

Landmark Event Co. handled both catering and venue coordination, bringing deep expertise and professionalism to every part of the day. As one of Seattle’s most trusted event teams, their familiarity with both the venue and wedding flow helped everything feel effortless, from guest experience to timing transitions.

The ceremony was led by Officiant Grace, who specializes in creating wedding ceremonies that feel personal, intentional, and deeply engaging. She crafted a ceremony that reflected Cat and Joey’s relationship while also making guests feel like an important part of the moment — not just observers, but active participants in the celebration.

As a Seattle wedding photographer, Fox Hollow Farm is one of those venues that never stops inspiring me. Everywhere you turn, there’s a beautiful backdrop — rolling green space, mature trees, the creek, the Manor House, and light-filled indoor areas that photograph just as beautifully as the outdoor grounds. It’s a gorgeous venue, but one that still gives couples room to make the day feel entirely their own. I also love its proximity to Seattle, Washington — it’s just far enough away to feel like an escape to the English countryside, without creating extra stress for guests when it comes to travel and accommodations.
I’ve photographed weddings at Fox Hollow Farm in a variety of weather conditions, timelines, and design styles, which means I know how to make the most of every space the venue offers. From covered porches and indoor portrait locations on rainy days to open green space and creek-side ceremony spots when the weather cooperates, experience at a venue like this matters. Knowing where the light looks best, how the day flows across the property, and how to pivot seamlessly when plans shift allows couples to stay present and enjoy their wedding day.
Couples choose to work with me for their Fox Hollow Farm wedding because I don’t copy and paste images — even at a popular Seattle-area wedding venue, your photos should feel personal, intentional, and reflective of who you are. I focus on creating wedding portraits that feel artful and emotional while still capturing the real moments unfolding throughout the day. No two weddings look the same, and your gallery shouldn’t either.
